The Blond Girl – Sold out

This piece, The Blond Girl, is from my Multi-Faced collection is deeply personal. The series is rooted in a kind of homecoming—after years of traveling, I returned to the Netherlands, the place I left at 18 and hadn’t seen in over a decade.

It was strange and familiar all at once. The icy blue skies, the piercing light, and childhood memories flooded back—blond mushroom haircuts in school photos and the friends I once knew, now transformed into the women they’ve become.

This painting captures one of those friends. Her face is a blend of two versions: the little girl I remember and the woman she is now, both woven together through the lens of memory. It carries with it nostalgia, distance, and fragments of a life that feels both near and far away.
